For the duration, the ink diminishes glare, granting you +1 to attack and damage rolls in bright light and +1 to attack rolls in dim light. As a bonus action, you can empower the tattoo for 1 minute, causing the tattoo to shift down from your scalp to form a mask around your eyes. This tattoo coats your scalp with avian symbolry, such as feathers and wings. When making unarmed strikes, the ink actualizes into dark claws, granting you a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. This tattoo depicts claw-like forms and other jagged shapes along your wrists and hands. Once used, this action can’t be used again until the next dawn. If your check succeeds, you grab the humanoids' attention enough that they make Perception and Investigation checks with disadvantage for the duration. Make a Performance check contested by each humanoid's Wisdom (Insight) check. Choose a number of humanoids who can see you up to your Charisma modifier + your level (minimum of one). As an action, you can empower this tattoo, causing the figure to dance or emote across your skin for 10 minutes. Once used, this action can't be used again until the next dawn. Attacks against an outlined creature have advantage if the attacker can see it, and the outlined creature can’t benefit from being invisible. On failure, a creature becomes boldly outlined. As an action, you can choose a point within a range of 60 feet and force all creatures in a 20 foot radius to make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw. As a bonus action, you can move the cel-shading to an adjacent part of your body. Once used, this bonus action can’t be used again until the next dawn. At the end of the duration, the tattoo instantly reappears on your skin. For that duration, the arrow will point in the direction of the creature, changing in length to reflect the distance of the target. On failure, the tattoo marks the creature for the next hour. On success, the tattoo immediately returns to you. As a bonus action, you can cause the tattoo to jump to a creature you can see with 90 feet, forcing the creature to make a Dexterity saving throw. This tattoo shows a unique mark alongside a tiny arrow. For the duration, each of your melee weapon attacks can reach a target up to 15 feet away from you, as tendrils of ink launch from your weapon or unarmed strike toward the target. As a bonus action, you can empower the tattoo for 1 minute. I would love to get Reddit's opinion on the flavor, power, and balance of these tattoos before I implement them in the game! These follow the same attunement rules as the Magic Tattoos UA. I am aware that these are overpowered compared to other common magic items (which are mostly pure flavor), but I am fine with them as long as they are weaker than the average uncommon magic item. This felt like a very appropriate story to emphasize magical tattoos over glamorous magical items. I really loved the aforementioned UA, and I'm running a campaign where the characters are a thieves guild, not a party of heroes.
